By implementing the Sustainability Policy, Manni identifies a set of actions that need to be implemented in order to reach its goal. It is an actual Action Plan which, among other things, involves:
Implementing monitoring and accountability systems of its own consumption and emissions resulting from the production of electricity and direct combustion of fossil fuels
Receiving data on emissions from its supply chain
Production processes completely powered by renewable energy sources
Energy audits and scheduled maintenance of systems
Constant pursuit of innovations to improve products and processes
Implementing the strictest international certifications, which the Group also requires from its suppliers
Implementing total quality management approaches
R&D paths in collaboration with suppliers and with relevant research bodies
Carrying out product environmental life cycle analysis
Supply chain management interventions to improve the efficiency of performances throughout the upstream and downstream industry chain and the envisaging of an advanced Sourcing Policy
What conduct must we follow? The Code of Ethics
The Code of Ethics is a set of rules of conduct in a business environment, which is structured and implemented on a voluntary basis. Manni adopted a Code of Ethics in 2011 that identifies the ethical and social standards that corporate executives have to observe. This document was also useful since it stimulates continuous corrective actions and improves internal relations between companies and suppliers. It is an integral document of the Organisation and Management Model drawn up pursuant to Legislative Decree No. 231 dated 8 June 2001.
How are the results measured? The Sustainability Report
Defining a target and equipping yourself with the tools, actions and regulations in order to reach it is not enough. It is also important to monitor and measure the results on a scientific basis and compare them from year to year. The Sustainability Report is a periodic report that has the purpose of examining the performance of a company in terms of the social, environmental and economic impacts of its activities and its strategic and business choices.
In 2016, Manni carried out the first measurements and drew up its first Group Report that was analysed and validated by Bureau Veritas, the world’s leading inspection, compliance and certification services organisation.
